In this unit, we're teaching the kids that Jesus doesn't overlook anybody! He is a friend to all who receive Him. It doesn't matter how we look or act; God loves us. In fact, He is looking for the lost, for those who need Him most. All He desires is that we respond when he reaches out to us. The story of Zacchaeus is often used for younger kids because they relate to it—they relate to being small and to climbing things. This story provides the opportunity to show kids how special they are and how Jesus wants to be their friend!
