A
New Year is like a blank page. There are no scribbles, no words,
nothing written either good or bad. It is yet to be written as
you fill in each line with your choices and
decisions as to what should be placed on the page. It's a new
year- a new start! The choice is yours and yours alone. God's
part is sure (Lam. 3:22 & 23). His mercies are new every morning
of this new year.
The way we start a new year sets the tone for the rest of the
year. God has always been faithful to reveal to me in prayer
just how we should start that new year as a church. Each year
has been a little different, yet one thing has always been the
common factor and that is prayer and fasting. At the strike of
midnight on Sunday January 10th we begin here at the Ark Church
10 days of consecration unto God. We will join together in ten
days of prayer and fasting as a family, as a corporate body. We
will do this in 10's:
10 full days of no food, liquids only
or 10 days of fasting sunup to sundown
or fast 10 meals in these 10 days
We are simply giving God something of ourselves in this special
time of preparing ourselves for the year to come.
To consecrate ourselves is to do something to draw nearer to
Him. We will turn off the TV, put the facebook to sleep, shut
down the twitter, stop the things that use up so much of our
time and have 10 days to concentrate on God alone. Put Him
first. I promise you that it will change your life and get your
new year started on the right foot.
Here is the Word that God gave to me for 2010 'build Me an
altar'. An altar is where you meet with God and God meets with
His people. His promise in Exodus 20:24b is 'I will come unto
thee and I will bless you". Build Him an altar and in this New
Year. We do that by consecration, prayer and fasting and God will come and bless!
